Honey-Do List (4-Hour Block)

The most efficient way to clear a backlog of small projects

For homeowners with a stack of small projects, our 4-hour Honey-Do block is the fastest, cheapest way to get them all done. You hand us the list when we arrive, we prioritize together, and we work through as much of it as we can in the time block. No separate trip charges, no per-task ramp-up time. Just steady progress through your list.

How it works

1. Build your list in advance — we'll send you a checklist template, or use our online form.
2. We arrive with a fully stocked truck — common parts, hardware, fasteners, drywall mud, caulk, weather stripping, common faucet cartridges, and the full set of tools.
3. We prioritize together — must-haves first, then nice-to-haves.
4. We work steadily for the 4-hour block.
5. Mid-point check-in — we tell you what we've completed and what's realistic to finish in remaining time.
6. End-of-block summary — written record of what was completed, what we noticed but couldn't address, and any items that need follow-up.

Common honey-do items

• Hang shelves, pictures, mirrors, curtain rods, and wall decor.
• Install ceiling fans (replacements).
• Replace light fixtures.
• Install GFCI outlets in kitchens, bathrooms, and exteriors.
• Replace dimmer switches and basic three-way switches.
• Install smart thermostats and smart switches.
• Adjust doors that drag, stick, or won't latch.
• Replace door knobs, levers, and deadbolts.
• Add weather stripping to exterior doors and windows.
• Caulk tubs, showers, sinks, and windows.
• Replace toilet seats and toilet flappers.
• Replace bathroom faucet cartridges (drips).
• Tighten loose railings, balusters, and stair treads.
• Replace deck boards (1-2 boards).
• Mount TVs (counts as 60-90 minutes).
• Install over-the-range microwaves.
• Repair garbage disposals.
• Replace smoke and CO detectors.
• Patch small drywall holes.
• Touch-up paint over patches.
• Install grab bars in showers (with proper anchoring).
• Hang floating shelves and wall organizers.
• Adjust cabinet doors and replace cabinet hardware.

• Replace exterior outlet covers and weather-resistant covers.

How much can we get done in 4 hours?

Most clients have us complete 8-15 items in a 4-hour block, depending on complexity. Things that move quickly: picture hanging, basic fixture replacements, minor adjustments. Things that take longer: drywall patches with dry time, complex installations, anything requiring multiple visits.

What we ask of you

• Have any specialty parts or fixtures ready when we arrive.
• If color-matched paint is needed, have it ready.
• Provide access to all areas — clear paths to work zones.
• Be available (in person or by phone) for quick decisions during the block.

What we provide

• All tools and most common supplies on the truck.
• Drop cloths and floor protection.
• Cleanup at the end.
• Written summary of work completed.

Most clients book us quarterly

Recurring clients put us on a 3-month rotation — every quarter we come back, work through whatever has accumulated, and they never have a long backlog of small projects. It's the most economical way to keep up with home maintenance, and saves clients from facing a daunting list when it's time to sell.

Extending the block

If your list is longer than 4 hours can handle, you can either book a longer block (8-hour day rate available) or save lower-priority items for the next visit. We tell you upfront which items are realistic for the block and which to save.
