TV Mounting
Professional TV mounting on any wall type, with cable management for a clean, finished look.
A clean TV mount makes the whole room look better
A wall-mounted TV is the difference between "this room is finished" and "we just moved in." Done right, the TV becomes part of the architecture. Done wrong, you get exposed cables, a crooked screen, or worse — a TV that pulls out of the wall a year later. We've done thousands of mounts on every wall surface and TV size from 32" to 85"+.
What's included in a standard mount
- Stud finding and proper mounting — drilled into studs whenever possible. For walls without studs in the right location, heavy-duty toggle anchors rated for the TV weight.
- Bracket installation — sized to your TV, with appropriate weight rating.
- TV mounting — onto the bracket, leveled, and tested for stability.
- Cable management — your choice of in-wall (clean look, code-compliant) or surface raceway (less invasive).
- Device connection — connecting cable box, soundbar, gaming console, streaming devices, AV receivers.
- Final test — power on, picture, sound, source switching, and bracket articulation if applicable.
Wall surfaces we mount on
- Standard drywall — most common, easiest, mounted to studs.
- Plaster (older homes) — careful drilling to avoid cracking.
- Brick and stone — masonry anchors, hammer drill required.
- Concrete and cinder block — concrete anchors, careful placement.
- Tile — diamond bit drilling, sealed properly to prevent moisture intrusion.
- Fireplaces (above mantel) — code-compliant mounting and special heat considerations.
- Wood paneling and shiplap — finding stud behind the panel.
- Outdoor / patio walls — for outdoor TVs, with weatherproof considerations.
Brackets we work with
- You provide the bracket — we install it and verify proper fit.
- We provide the bracket — we bring quality brackets sized to your TV and viewing distance, so you don't end up with a cheap bracket that flexes.
Bracket types
- Fixed (low-profile) — sleekest look, no movement, ideal when viewing angle is straight-on.
- Tilting — small downward tilt, good when mounted higher than eye level.
- Full-motion (articulating) — extends, swivels, tilts. Great for corners or rooms where you watch from multiple positions.
- Ceiling and pull-down — for special situations.
Cable management options
- In-wall (recommended for clean installations) — power and HDMI run inside the wall. Code-compliant low-voltage routing. Power requires either an in-wall power kit or a recessed outlet behind the TV — we can install either.
- Surface raceway — paintable plastic channel running down the wall. Less invasive than in-wall, still much cleaner than dangling cables.
- Behind-furniture run — for TVs above credenzas, simply tucking cables behind the unit.
Soundbar and AV setup
Beyond the TV itself, we handle the surrounding setup:
- Soundbar mounting (wall-mounted or shelf)
- AV receiver and equipment placement
- Source connection (cable, streaming, gaming)
- Basic device setup and remote programming
- Wi-Fi setup for smart TVs
Above-fireplace special considerations
Mounting above a fireplace is popular but requires care:
- Heat rise — gas fireplaces produce significant heat that can damage TVs. Distance and a proper mantel are critical.
- Wood-burning fireplaces — even more heat, plus soot. Often we recommend mounting elsewhere.
- Chimney structure — usually masonry; we have the equipment.
- Recessed niche option — some fireplaces have built-in TV niches; we can build out and trim these too.
Time required
Most standard mounts: 60-90 minutes. With in-wall cable routing: 90-120 minutes. Above-fireplace masonry mounts: 2-3 hours. We give you an accurate estimate before we start.
